Hey everyone, Happy Batman Day!
I just picked up the new Batman Noir: Hush. It’s pretty amazing looking! Its just Batman Hush, only with inking and now colors. Yeah, just like Hush Unwrapped (Batman Hush with only penciling) only inking instead! I need to work on my inking so I knew I’d want to pick this up. Then, yesterday one of my Facebook buddies tagged me in a post saying that Jim Lee was going to be in LA signing, so I decided to go there!
Went to the Barnes & Noble at The Grove in LA, its this crazy 3 story Barnes & Noble. You were supposed to show up right when they opened at 9 to pick up bracelets to make sure that you got to see Jim Lee… But I like sleep too much.
Anyway, I lucked out and showed up at 1 and was able to still have Jim Lee sign my copy! I’m so good at pictures…
This is the first time I’ve been able to meet Jim Lee, and have him sign my comics! I felt like a jerk though, the line was so rushed and I was trying to look at the camera while he was signing my book so I didn’t even get to thank him for all his work and comic to sign! Jim Lee, if you’re reading this thanks! Your work really inspires me to be a better artist and work hard to grow.
On another note, I was able to have him sign my Countdown to Infinite Crisis! If you haven’t read this particular comic, do it! Last I knew you could get it for free on Google Play. This came out when I was in highschool and was one of my main gateway comics. It tells the story of Blue Beetle (who back then was not in any media and I had no idea who he was) who has stumbled upon a crazy sinister plot. He tries to get Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman to help him but they all think he’s crazy. So what does he do? Try to stop it anyway, with the help of Booster Gold!
Countdown took me from not knowing Blue Beetle to loving his character in 80 pages, fantastic!
I’ll be sure to write a review on how amazing all the artwork in Batman Noir: Hush is when I’m done gawking over it and can actually read it… Hah. And now, its time for me to scour the internet and try to watch the new Doctor Who…
I leave you with my featured image of Lovisa with a tie-on Batman mask.
Happy Batman Day!!
